SideKicks {October}

As the month has come to a close, I like to look back at what make-up items became my go to items to help me get ready throughout the month. October was a fun month for me to play around with some make up! I had a few events that I got dolled up for, and to do that I had some new and some old sidekicks that helped me create the perfect look! Continue reading

July Sidekicks

Another month, another set of sidekicks. This month, although I have gotten lots of beauty samples, I didn’t get to use as many as I would have liked. I did however find new favorites and get to use some new products. So, without further ado let’s get started.

IMG_4306Eyes: Lately I have been using my Benefit they’re Real set from Sephora. Although they took a lot of getting used to, especially the rubber tipped eyeliner, I eventually got the hang of it, and think these will be great for my vacation in a few weeks. Check out my full review of these products here.

IMG_4335Face/Skincare: I haven’t been experimenting much with different skin care, just because of the business of summer, but one that I did try was from my Glossybox. I tried the Colion’s Bubbling Pore treatment. Let me tell you this was one of the most entertaining and unique face mask experiences I have ever had. The Blackhead O2 Bubble mask is exactly as it sounds, this mask bubbled and tingled just like drinking really carbonated drinks.

The second step, although I only used it for a few seconds due to an allergic reaction, really cooled down and soothed my skin after the bubble mask cleaned out all of my pores.

I did notice that I had clean and tight pores after using this treatment, however by the next day they were back to their usual self. I don’t know if it is worth the $31 retail price.

Lips: I have been loving my Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick. I got my sample again from a Glossybox. This one was in the shade CHIHUAHUA, and I love wearing it out, to work, or even just for running errands. It is super light weight, and doesn’t dry out my lips.

Hair: With such a sensitive head, I have to be careful with what I use on my hair. Currently I am using Pantene Sheer Volume just the shampoo. It leaves my hair full of volume without the weight and doesn’t irritate my head when I use it every other wash.

What were your favorites this month? Did you have any products that stuck out and were made your “go-to’s”? Have you ever tried these products, or want to try them?

I’d love to hear your feedback! Until next months sidekicks- have a BEAUTY-full day!

June Sidekicks

Time to talk about my favorites again! I love this time of the month because I get to reflect back on the past month and think about what products really stood out to me, and made my life easier! June was full of great products, I had two new subscription boxes, a little Ulta Haul and got to test out new products! With out further ado here are my June favorites!

This month I discovered new products, come ones I have had for a while that became new favorites and some that have been talked about recently.

IMG_4282

Eye Shadow: I have been LOVING my ELF eyeshadow palette, Need it Nude. I had mentioned this in my ELF haul, but I have been finding so many combinations and looks with just this one set of shadows. I have been using my new ELF brushes that I got in the same haul, but they have been perfect for creating simple looks, smokey eyes, or glammed up looks too!

Eye Liner: This was one of my FREE birthday items that I got from Sephora, it is the IMG_4285mini Marc Jacobs black crayon liner. I recently started using crayons instead of liquid because I can get a softer look, and its easier to get close to my lash line with a crayon. This is a great true black color, and it stays on all day. It can be semi difficult to remove, it does take a good makeup remover to get it off.

Mascara: I have definitely mentioned this mascara before, but I have been loving my Tarte- Lights Camara Lashes/Splashes mascara. I have a mini and a full sized in the waterproof and although its not the cheapest mascara, it is by far my favorite I have ever used. I love the way my lashes look when I use it, they are curled, thick, separated, and black, they are on point.

To get all of this make up off, I have still been loving my IMG_4283makeup remover from Grove Co. This one specifically is from the brand Alba Botanica. An organic and Free remover is one of the best I have found in a long time. This EXTREMELY gentle yet effective remover is tough on makeup but gentle on my eyes. It gets my waterproof make up off, and the toughest of eyeliners.

The last beauty item I have been loving is the new Secret  Outlast 24 hour deodorant. An odd item to have on this list, I must admit but IMG_4287with the hot weather here this has been on of my top sidekicks! I have it in both the gel and the solid, and both in different scents but I love them both. The gel is great for when I wear black tank tops so I don’t get the white residue on the pit of my shirt. It dries clear but keeps me smelling great all day long. The solid is great for everyday wear!

My favorite scents are the solid Clean Lavender, and the gel Paris.

What were your favorites from this month? Did you have any of the same ones that I did? I’d love to hear if you have tried any of these and what your impression was! Do you have any beauty or makeup products you think I should try?

Have a BEAUTY-full day!

April Sidekicks

It’s the end of the month already! April has flown by, and that means it’s time for me to share my favorite beauty sidekick from April. This month I got some new products and I fell in love with some older ones.

Skin: I started using a new face product company that I am IN LOVE with. Acure Organics-a company that I purchased from Grove Collaborative. A great online organic company that is cheaper than Target.

I got a makeup remover wipe, face scrub and a moisturizer for under $20 bucks! It ships straight to your house and they have lots of organic companies and products. My sister referred me, which gave me a discount and gave her $10 to spend when I made purchase.  Use My referral Code to save: https://www.grove.co/referrer/370751/

I have loved all 3 of these products, they don’t irritate or dry out my skin, they help clear up any blemishes, and they all leave my skin soft and smooth. I use them every other night or every 3 depending on what the condition of my skin is like.

The wipes take off the toughest make up with out smudging it across my face. I use these on my entire face & neck. Then I use the face scrub, this scared me at first because it was not an appealing color or smell. I did however like the way it felt on my skin. I could feel it removing the dirt, dry skin and really cleaning out my pores. Once I wash it off, I use the moisturizer all over my face. Again, I had to get used to the smell, but this ultra soft moisturizer melts into my skin without leaving it oily.

IMG_3981Eyes: I have been loving my Free Ulta Voluptuous Volume Mascara this past month. It gives me lots of on point lash days! Not only do my lashes get lots of volume but the perfect amount of thickness and makes them jet black!

I didn’t have just one eyeshadow or a palette that I loved this month, it varied depending on my mood and outfit :0)

Lips: I have used this product before and used it in one of my other favorites, but this is a Mini sized Tarte Cosmetics: LipSurgence Lip Creme in the color Wonder. I love these crayons because they dry and stain your lips with out being difficult to remove or without transferring. The color is a light red that I love to wear with my military green outfits. It’s mini size fits in a pocket, clutch or anything for easy, quick applications!IMG_3980.JPG

Face: I have been loving this Pixi by Petra Duo blush in Rose Gold that I got in my March Ipsy bag. I love this light weight, light color blush for a simple makeup look. I apply it with my Crown Brush: C427 Duo Fiber Blush Brush! This brush makes it super easy to apply the blush where I want it on my cheeks and leaves me with a light shimmer and a hint of color!

What were your favorite Make-up & Beauty products from the month of April? Have you used any of my favorites before? Anything you’d suggest? I’d love to hear your comments below!

March Sidekicks

It’s that time again where I talk about my makeup sidekicks from this last month! With a lot of new products in my collection it was really hard to narrow it down. March was a fun month of make up for me, I had a wedding to go to, my 1920’s birthday party and going out with the girls to get ready for! Playing around with tons of my new products as well as samples was lots of fun! But now for my favorites!IMG_3839

Eye Liner: 24/7 Easy Glide-On Liner from Urban Decay in the color Charcoal. I LOVE this liner, to say the least. It has made its way into my everyday routine. This very easy to apply liner lasts all day without smudging and stays very pigmented. I got this one as my Birthday Gift from UD but I may have to repurchase when I finish this one!

Mascara: Cover Girl Flamed Out- I have used this mascara for about a year or so and I still love it! The wand allows me to get every lash! I have it both in black and brown and it has definitely been a repurchase!

Eye Shadow: I recently got my FIRST Naked Eye Shadow Palette and I LOVE it! I just got the basic set because it had more of the neutral colors I use. The shadows are soft and are easy to apply and are great for creating any kind of look!

Lip: Tarte Lip crayon in the color Sweet! I love the slight mint flavor and the long wear of this crayon. It is super easy to apply and doesn’t smudge. It is great for just throwing in my bag and can be quickly applied throughout the day.

Skin care: Ulta Moisturizer- I have had EXTREMELY dry skin from a mix of an allergic reaction and the cold, dry winter air. This cream is so soft and silky and it doesn’t take much to cover my entire face. I have used it only a few days and my face was very hydrated and smooth after just a few uses.

What were your favorites this past month? Did any of yours make my list?

February Sidekicks

IMG_3837.jpgEvery month I thought it would be cool to share my favorite beauty products that I used throughout the month with you guys. I do a favorites post every month on my other blog, that you can find here, but the Sidekick picks are strictly beauty and fashion pieces. I have recently ordered a bunch of new make-up products but I am going to limit it to my absolute favorites.

Mascara: Too Faced- Better Than Sex Mascara. Although I’m not over joyed by the name, I love the product itself! The criss-cross wand reaches all of my lashes and coats them, curls them and lifts them! One coat does the job, and sometimes an extra coat for added thickness. Right now I am just using the trial sized one I got in my Beauty Blogger set, but this may need to be a repurchase!

Eye Liner: NYX- Deep Purple! This is my new eyeliner from NYX. I got this color in the retractable crayon. I love it because it is the perfect plum color. It goes great with my plum eye shadow, browns or alone. It brings out my greens eyes and is easy to wear. See what other great products I got from NYX here!

Eye Shadow: Smash Box-ART. LOVE. COLOR. SHADOW in the color Sepia. These set of 3 eye shadows have become an every day favorite. I wear them with every outfit, dressed up, casual, smokey eye or sometimes just one shade alone. The colors go great with my NYX liner too! Check out my blog post about this shadow here.

Lips: Tarte Lip Paint in the color Namaste. This great mauve neutral color goes with every outfit. I love wearing it to work, feeling classy and really put together, but it can easily transition to a lunch date with the girls. To read more of my review about this product, click here.

Foundation: ELF BB Cream SPF 20 in the color Fair.  I like its lightweight feeling, easy to apply and you get great coverage. It also has SPF in it and that takes care of my sunscreen.

Make-Up Tool: The ever popular Beauty Blender. Like many Vloggers, make-up artists and other at home beauty junkies, I love my beauty blender. I have the original, but I also have Ulta brand blenders that are identical. These work great for applying my foundation, concealer, and cream contours.

Of course I have many make-up products that I love, but these have been my staple items this past month! Let me know what your favorites are, are there any on this list that you use? Any you’d recommend?

Have a Beauty-FULL day!
