Eyeliner Review [Top 5]

I have been through a lot of eyeliner in my days & I thought it was time to review and list my top 5 favorite eyeliners. I don’t use pencils because I am not a fan of them and for some reason they make my eyes itch. I stay away from them as much as I can. Continue reading

Sephora Haul

The thing I love most about wondering through Sephora is that I always discover new products, find good deals on products I already love, and walk away with new samples. I recently was wondering around, looking again for the Swamp Queen Eyeshadow Palette, and again no luck. But I was there and decided to look.

IMG_4306I was looking as some new brands and some old brands, always on the hunt for a deal. I stumbled across another “Beauty Blogger” type box, were one brand will give you smaller sizes of a few of their products in one box for you try. This one was from the brand Benefit. This pack came with:

A Make-UP remover

They’re REAL Mascara- Black & Brown

Push UP Liner

I also got a tips and tricks pack that just gave me tips on using these products.

The other great thing about shopping Sephora is you get FREE samples both online as well as in-store. The ones I got with my in-store purchase are the Sephora Brand- Instant Moisture Cream & the First-Aid-Beauty brand Ultra Repair Cream.

IMG_4315When I was leaving the store I came across some skin care products that looked interesting but because of my sensitivity I wanted to do more research on them before I bought them.
I ended up finding that they would be great for my skin, and did an online purchase.

Dr. Jart + was the skin care that I tried. I went with their pore minimizing products to put them to the test. I am a long time user of Biore pore strips and just one of these single use packets is the price of an entire box of Biore. So I put these to the test. Check out my review of these here.

IMG_4316The other product I ordered was another “sample box” I guess of Tarte Skincare  Rainforest of the Sea. These were 3 (very small) samples from this skin care line. the 3 items were:

– 0.338 oz Marine Boosting Mist
– 0.25 oz Deep Dive Cleansing Gel
– 0.24 oz Drink H2O Hydrating Boost

From my first impression these are going to be really hydrating products. The gel immediately melted into my skin and left my skin soft and hydrated. I will do a full review when I use up some of my other skin care, so stay tuned!

I did also get to choose a sample from the online purchase. They had a promo code for a Hair Care product from Living Proof a frizz eliminating Nourishing oil. Because I used this promo code, I didn’t get to pick other samples, or I didn’t do it right because this was the only sample I received.

What are your favorite products to get from Sephora? Have you ever tried the Benefit or Tarte “sample boxes” I got”?

Stay tuned for reviews of the products I got from this haul!

[Mini] Ulta Haul

I was DYING to get the Swamp Queen eyeshadow palette from one of my favorite Youtubers, Grav3yard Girl aka Bunny. I wandered into my Ulta and was informed they didn’t get it in yet… total bummer, but that means I also saved $45 on an eyeshadow palette. I decided since I was already there, I should look around and see what they had. I quickly found items in my bag as I made my way to the check outs. But I couldn’t be happier with what I got!

I got to try some new brands, as well as some ones I was more familiar with. Got Free items as well as clearance!

IMG_4294The first thing I wanted to get was a full size Tarte- Lights, Camara, Splashes Mascara. I have a trial size that I got free when I purchased from the Tarte site a few months back. I fell in love and wanted to get a full size tube. I also got the waterproof, just because I prefer it in general.

This was $21 at Ulta

I was looking for more of the Tartest Lip Crayon, but my Ulta doesn’t carry them anymore. I asked the sales rep if they had anything similar because I like the crayon style that dries and is matte. She then introduced me to a brand that I have heard of, but never tried. Buxom.

She told me that they had twist up lip crayons, and they had a promo when you spend $30 on Boxum products and you get a free lip product. I looked around and found it very easy to spend that $30. I picked out a lip crayon in the color Barcelona, one that was very similar to my Tarte Wonder. I also looked at their eyeshadows because I was looking for a good color to use with my ELF palettes pink shades, and I settled on a shade called Lingerie Lover, a like mauve color.

I ended up meeting that $30 minimum requirement to get a free lip product and was given a liquid lipstick in the color Centerfold, a light mauvey-nude color. I was unsure at first, but applied it in the car and by the time I got home, it was dry!

Similar to other higher end brands, both the lip products have a slight mint scent and flavor, and both gave my a tingle feeling. They did both dry matte, and didn’t transfer once they did dry.

IMG_4297The last thing I picked up was a clearance bottle of Essie Nail Polish for $0.47!  This cute glitter and small sequins will be perfect for Christmas or even NYE! I will have to wear a base color because there isn’t any pigmentation to the polish, jut pure glitter.

When I got in line, it was quite long. I was next in line, and for being patient, I was given a free sample of Clinique Liquid Bronzer. I was told that I can wear it alone, or mix it in with IMG_4298my foundation to apply.

Although I didn’t get the item that I went to Ulta specifically to buy, I walked away with great purchases and I am anxiously awaiting when this shadow palette will arrive.

Have you ever tried these products? What was your first impression of them? Would you buy them again? I’d love to hear your feedback!

Have a BEAUTY-full day!

I love E.L.F. products! Love is an understatement actually. I have practically all their products and I just can’t get enough of them! I have used them for years, and will keep using E.L.F. until they stop making products.

If you aren’t familiar with E.L.F. it stands for Eyes, Lips, Face. They have SUPER cheap but good quality products. They have two different lines so to speak, they have just a basic line where most of the products range in price from about $1-3 a piece! You can’t get better than that! But their second line is called their “Studio” Line, these products range in price from about $6-10 but have some cheaper ones too!

I recently saw a video from some of my favorite Youtubers Eleventhgorgeous. They featured a  Mad for Matte eyeshadow palette fro E.L.F. that had some GREAT shades in it. I immediately went online and found the same palette. In the suggested purchases it had a second palette, Need it Nude, yet another one with GREAT looking shadows. They do have a third palette called Everyday Smokey, but with my pale skin tone, I have a hard time pulling off such a dark eye, therefore I passed on those.

I ordered these two palettes from E.L.F.’s site because they were offering a FREE $17 item with a $25 dollar purchase, and I also got FREE shipping. After I placed my order, I then got a coupon for $5 off my next purchase.

Now onto the products themselves:

Mad for Matte Eyeshadow Palette- A great set of neutral colors that can be used in different ways to create so many different looks! I did notice that it takes a few layers for the lighter shadows to show up, so you do have to build them quite a bit.IMG_4087

Need It Nude Eyeshadow Palette- A shimmery set of shadows that are great for going out kind of looks. When using the shades with a shimmer to them (compared to the matte ones) there was quite a bit of fallout.IMG_4088

The FREE Items I got, were a set of 4 brushes that include: 2 blending brushes, as smudge brush and a flat eyeliner brush. I use all 4 of these to create my ELF look down below. 2 of the brushes are from the studio line (the two black brushes) and 2 are from their basic line (white & silver brushes)

FREE Jet Black Liquid Eye Liner- This is one of my favorites because of the brush and it IMG_4094dries almost instantly. The fine tip brush allows me to make a perfect line no matter how thin or how thick.

I prefer the brush tip compared to a felt tip because I also feel like it gives me more product and makes a more solid line by delivering a truer color.

IMG_4093FREE Lip Balm. Mine came in the color NUDE, a slight tint to my lips. A great little balm for summer. It also has SPF in it great for sunny days outside. I like that its small size fits easily in a bag or even my pocket.

IMG_4095A FREE Smokey Eye Shadow Palette. This cute little eyeshadow set is perfect when I don’t feel like trying to pair shadows together to create the perfect smokey eye. I Have one other shadow set from ELF and I love it! The colors are perfect and take the guess work out of creating a smokey eye.

IMG_4096A sheer high definition power. I love using this for baking my face or an all over powder. It is super light weight and comes with its own little powder puff. I have used this for years and it works great for setting liquid foundation and concealer.

Be warned, this stuff does tend to get everywere!

I also picked up two new products from Target that are also from ELF. A new foundation and a new blending brush. I love ELF foundations because they are great light coverage and all of them have SPF in them. I don’t like a full coverage because they feel too heavy on my skin. This new blending brush is going to great for contour and bronzer!

What are your favorite products from ELF? Do you have any of these? How do you wear these shadows, I’d love to see your look.

Tarte Does it Again

Another Tarte order and another pleased girl! I am continually impressed with Tarte. I love the free samples that they give along with the good quality products I get.IMG_3908

I am getting coupons weekly from Tarte, and I sometimes delete them and sometimes look at them and debate spending the money on make-up that I probably don’t need. But this time it was a good coupon that I couldn’t pass up.

Tarte allows you to collect points for purchases, and use those to upgrade your samples. On this particular purchase, I had enough points to upgrade, as well as a coupon for free eyelash primer.

I was needing a small eye liner brush for a gel liner that I have and I lost the brush too. I ordered the brush and with my coupon, I got an Opening Act Lash Primer for free. Now Tarte is a company that gives you free samples with every purchase. With this order i got to try the Deep Sea cleaning gel, and the second was an upgraded sample of the very popular Lights, Camara Lashes mascara.

I have tried both the lash primer and mascara together and people have asked me if I am wearing fake lashes. Not only does the primer make my lashes longer and thicker, the mascara separates them and makes them jet black.

Have you used any of these products? Are they worth repurchasing?

Have a Beauty-FULL day!

Urban Decay

IMG_3819.JPGUrban Decay is a company that I have dreamed about owning for a LONG time! I love all of the Naked palettes, and have been looking at them for a years. I signed up for their UD Junkie program; a program that lets you earn points that can be redeemed for dollars towards a purchase.

I have been using these products for a few weeks and I can’t get enough of them! I wear the eyeliner everyday! It is so easy to apply and lasts all day long! It doesn’t smudge but is still easy to get off at the end of the day.

The Naked Basics eyeshadows are great for everyday wear. I love that they are easy to mix and match and its simple to create multiple looks with just a few colors. It is a nice compact set that I can just throw in my bag and create a different look for going out later or a quick touch up.

With my purchase, I got a “Deluxe” sample of the Perversion mascara. I have to say that after being ecstatic with the eyeshadow and the eyeliner I had high expectations for this mascara. I saw it in the box, and honestly thought they forgot to send the actual product. It was the smallest sample I had received and I have been ordering a lot of different products from multiple companies and this was by far the smallest. Because it was advertised as a Deluxe sample, I imagined I would have been able to use it a few times before I could form an opinion. This sample was so small I barely got ONE use out of it. The product didn’t even cover the entire wand. I had to keep moving the product off the wand, try to put it back on the wand in an empty spot just so that I could coat my lashes.

I sent a complaint to the company and simply got a “We’re sorry, that’s the size we give” email.

Overall I think I will purchase from Urban Decay again, but hopefully they will have other options and better options for their free samples!

What do you think of Urban Decay? Do you have any of their products and would recommend any? Is there anything you DON’T like about this company?

IT Was a Hit

I recently purchased a small makeup kit with a coupon from IT Cosmetics. It came with a brow kit, mascara and and eyeliner! The bag is a cute little leather bag that fits great in a purse or travel bag.

My first impression was that this is a great travel kit! I don’t always do my brows but when I do, this makes it super easy. It has an angled tip that helps make the light hair like strokes.  The other end has a spooly brush  to help blend in the pencil lines. The mascara wand has so many small bristles that grab even the smallest of lashes. The end has a little ball with bristles that allow me to get the inner corner and works really well for doing the lower lashes! The eyeliner is a nice jet black and goes on so easy. With barely any pressure at all. The eyeliner however does smudge if I am not careful :0) IMG_3867

With my online purchase, I also got to pick samples of products to try. I was honestly really surprised at how many I got! I got to pick 3 samples total, and two of the samples came with two uses each! The samples I got are a little bit of the CC cream, two of the Bye Bye Under Eye concealer, and the last is two packets of Anti-Aging primer. IMG_3869I am very impressed with the products that I got as well as the packaging that it came in. One of the best shipping packages I have seen so far. It was carefully packed and could tell that they take pride in well delivered packages!

What do you like from IT Cosmetics? Have you tried any of these products? What do you think of these products? Are they worth a repurchase?

Tarte 2.0

My first purchase from Tarte was my Lip Paint, I was immediately impressed and in love with this product. I went back to see other products that Tart had available and found a few more products I am quite fond of!

The first, is the matching lip liner to the Lip Paint I got. The paint is in the shade Namaste and I got the liner in the shade Boho. The liner is a great nude color that will work great for many lipsticks, gloss, paints, tints that I have.

IMG_3773The Second product that I have is one that was FREE with this purchase, a Lip Crayon in the color Sweet. I love this crayon! Super easy to apply, a great product for everyday wear. Sweet is a light pink shade that is still very neutral! The crayon is moisturizing and extremely lightweight.

The last product I got was a cheek tint & highlight combo in the color Moonlight. Now with this, I was slightly disappointed due to the size of it. The highlight was very large, it was the entire squeeze part. Compared to the highlight, the cheek tint was TINY. It was just the rounded part on the end. Extremely unequal in portion size, I was a little annoyed. I wish the cheek tint was larger, and a lot less of the highlight.

On the plus side, both are great shades, not sticky and blend-able formulas. I do think I will obviously still wear both of them, but I was disappointed in the product.FotorCreated

What products do you like from Tarte? What did you think of the highlight/cheek tint? Were you disappointed in it too?

Best Freebie of all Time

I was browsing through Ulta’s site just to see the variety of brands available, as well as their pricing. I have been to Ulta many times before but always looking for the same drug store brands I can find at Target.

After looking around their site, I noticed they were running a promotion where when you spend $20 you get a 14 piece set of make up for FREE! What?! I started looking at the pictures for the promo and realized… these were FULL SIZED items. Not the little travel or trial sized ones. The total value of the bag was $88… that I get for FREE! How could I pass this up?

IMG_3774.jpgI quickly realized that this promo was only good with the purchase of Ulta Beauty products. Keeping to that brand I easily found items to add to my collection. One of the items was a pedicure kit. A great 4 piece interchangeable set for getting salon soft feet, at home. The second thing I got was small beauty blenders. These are great for working under the eyes for concealer. The last is another sharpener, I ordered this when I thought my Benefit order was lost.

Inside the Free kit, I got a cute mint travel bag, the other option was lavender. Inside the bag was:IMG_3776.jpg

Full size Volumizing Mascara
Full size Matte Lip gloss
Full size Lip Stick
Full size Brow pencil and brow brush
Dual ended eye liner
3 Make-Up brushes
Face Primer
Nail Polish
15 Make Up remover pads
Eyeshadow Palette
Contour/ Highlight compact

Another reason to sign up for email notifications from your favorite companies. Taking advantage of these types of promos are effortless! By making a purchase of items I was needing to buy, and reaching a small total I was greatly rewarded!

I am also excited because I got a gift card as well as a coupon for my next purchase; which I made while the promo was still running and I am waiting for my second bag! Excited to see if the products are IDENTICAL or if there is slight variation in the color choices.

Did you take advantage of this AWESOME promo? Do you know of any good promos?  Have you ever scored one this big?
