I know I missed the month of August, but hey, I was busy okay? September, things have finally settled down, I have unpacked, & finally, almost back onto a schedule. I have been able to play around with more beauty samples, product lines and find a new set of favorites. So with out further ado, here are my September Sidekicks.
Hair Care: So from my Influencer App I got GIANT bottles of Herbal Essence “Honey, I’m Strong” Strengthening shampoo & conditioner. And I also got the Tousle Me Softly hair spray. I originally thought I was going to be allergic, but I have been using it for a few weeks and no problems! Not only do I find that I am losing less hair, but my hair is lighter weight, and is straighter than normal. (Note: I have very short hair to begin with, and with the cut I have, the ends tend to wing out. I usually have to straighten them or flip the ends inward.)
Mascara: I am still loving my Tarte: Lights, Camera Lashes. It
literally does wonders to my lashes, and I get asked all the time if I am wearing fake lashes. I get so much volume, lift and darkness from just one coat. When I want a bold look, I do multiple coats and the look is amazing.
The only downside is it is a little spendy. This guy full size is $24 from Ulta. I was lucky and received this sample from one of my beauty boxes and fell in love before I bought the full sized.
Lip: With fall here, I have loved playing around with more bold lip colors. Red has been a favorite and I have two products that give me great color that lasts all day. I have
mentioned them both before, my Tarte Mini LipSurgence Lip Crayon in the color Wonder & my Buxom Lip Crayon in the color Barcelona (scarlet apple). Both of these lip products go on great, last all day, dry without transferring & don’t dry out my lips.
The other great thing about both of these lip products, is at the end of the day I can easily take them off, no residue.
Eye Shadow: I am still playing around and loving my Swamp Queen Palette from Bunny.
There are just so many ways you can wear these shades the possibilities are endless! I love to wear the purple shades, they really make my green eyes stand out.
The other great thing about this palette is that it has a highlight, blush and bronzer in one. There is no guess work. I have been playing around with wearing some of these, but since I don’t wear much for face make up it doesn’t always look right, but I’m trying.
Nails: Recently I have been loving painting my nails. One day out of the blue I had an urge to paint them, and they have been painted ever since. Like most girls I have a hefty nail polish collection, but this month I have had a few that have stuck out to me. Although slightly expensive for nail polish I have been LOVING Essie polish. I have been wearing gray, deep purples, ya know fall colors 😉 But I have also been using this “gel setter” top coat. Let me tell you, this is a game changer. After 2 coats of polish and a coat of this top coat, my nails lasted a WEEK without chipping. I’m sure they could have gone longer, but I was ready for a new color. Now a week isn’t horrible, granted I have an office job that doesn’t generally mess up fingernails, but pretty impressive if you ask me. Unfortunately it does say that it works only with Essie polish but it may be worth experimenting with.
With Fall around the corner, I am loving the change in wardrobe! Colored skinny pants, booties, blanket scarves! It is literally my favorite. These are a few of my favorite outfits I have created for my fall look!
Still rocking both my white and olive green skinny jeans I have added a few new favorites to my fall wardrobe.
Shoes: I recently picked up these bad boys on clearance at Target for just $14. A steal of a deal if you ask me! I have been looking for shoes like this for a long time, but because I am kind of a cheap skate I never wanted to pay full price. But at this clearance price, how could you go wrong? I love paring them with jeans, dresses skirts they go with so many different outfits! They are comfortable too!
Dress: Every girl needs a little black dress, and I found mine again on clearance at Target for just $12! A thin cotton dress will be perfect for any season.
Scarf: I have been loving my cozy blanket scarf that I got in my Fall FabFitFun box. I was lucky and got the black and white plaid scarf. Perfect for those chilly fall and winter days here in Minnesota. I love that I can pair it with any color and pattern and that it can be worn in so many different ways!
What were your favorites from this month? Do you have go to products that you wear only in the fall? Have you ever used any of my favorites from this month?
